“First and foremost i’m fascinated by faces. To form a creature out of a clod of nothing and to awake it to life, this always new miracle is what keeps me so attracted up to this day.” This very fascination can well be seen in the work of the internationally known swiss doll artist Maja Bill.

Very early in her life she started to create dolls. First for herself, then as a kindergarden teacher for her kindergarden kids and her own kids. For over 20 years she is now modelling dolls for adults.

“Work is love that became visual” This philosophy engraves on her artistic work as well as on her life. The facettes of her work are nearly infinite. There is almost no material out of which dolls can be made that is unfamiliar to her. Preferably the artist works with porcelain.
